Vora, still awkwardly in tow with Suli, returns a greeting and announces himself.
"Ah, hello. I'm Chief Inspector Vora, of the Praxus police, and this is my partner, Inspector Suli." (Her real title, of course being "Robotcide Investigator Suli", but that seemed rather a mouthful. Don't want to go confusing witnesses before he's even started. And besides, investigator- inspector; same thing, right?)
He smiles mildly, gesturing his free hand to the ghastly form besides him. "I understand you can help us with our investigations."

Suli has no manners, so she just thrums when Vora gestures to her before starting to prowl about. In a moment, she disappears into the shower room. Yes, yes she has just left the rookie to handle the witness. She is intentionally being an aft. Why do you ask?
Their witness gives her broad, black back a confused blink but doesn't comment on the behavior otherwise and turns back to Vora, a polite smile on his face.
"Sidespin, sir. I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I will try my best to answer all your questions."
There is series of clicking noises from the shower room. You know, in case Vora forgot Suli was watching.

Vora maintains his calm facade with practiced ease. Suli never missed a trick to make things awkward for him. She was like an embarrassing pet. A hulking, terrifying, cold-blooded embarrassing pet.
"Thank you," he replies with a charming smile, ignoring the clicking noises and the urge to yell at Suli for making them. "I'm just curious to know; have you heard any unusual noises coming from the rooftop recently or anything out of the ordinary?"

Sidespin glances at his bathroom at the clicking before raising a brow and looking back to Vora. This is getting a bit weird for him.
"I hear a lot of unusual noises in the apartment, sir," the mech answers after a moment. There is a subtle glint in his optics as he continues, resting his arm on top of his knuckles. "It's not exactly the best of neighborhoods, this place. You'll have to be a bit more specific on the kinds of noises you want to hear about."
//Vora,// Suli warns over their radio. What she's warning about, the old hag doesn't specify. She's wrenched off the drain covering and switched to a UV flashlight in the mean time. A moment later, there is more shuffling about in the bathroom.
Sidespin looks up, rather startled by the racket. "Is she trying to break my bathroom?"

"She's a shower enthusiast," Vora replies dryly, clearly not amused with Suli. "Anyway, noises. Yes."
Now why was Suli so gracious enough to give him a warning? Either she doesn't want him to reveal too much, or something isn't sitting right here. Whatever it is, he'll need to tread carefully.
"Well, anything that is out of the usual even for here," Vora states simply. "Any particularly louder banging or crashing about, for example."

"Well, officer, crashing and banging is... very normal here. Especially the loud ones. You'll have to be more specific." Sidespin is beginning to sound exhasperated.
//You have money.// Suli sounded decidedly irritated. //Give sixty creds to him and then continue questioning. The first answers were a request for a bribe.// Vora is very lucky that Suli is in a teaching mood. Otherwise, she would've shoved him into the bathroom and continued the questioning herself- which would be unfortunate for both Vora and the witness.

Ah, a bribe. Considering how much of that Vora deals in it's pretty embarrassing he didn't spot it sooner. Then again, he's not usually the one paying.
He sighs to himself and clears his throat. "I see." Unsubspacing a credit chip, he charges it to sixty in front of Sidespin and holds the slender chip between his fingers. "Specific enough?"

Sidespin looked a bit less aggravated but definitely unimpressed. It wasn't directed at the amount on the credit chip though. He'd already been paid before this after all. At this point, he was simply playing along.
"Ah, yes," the politeness is back now, if a bit more forced than before. He crosses his legs and delicately rests his chin on his worn knuckles. "That much more helpful." The red and orange mech pauses, taking a moment to recollect his memories before continuing, "I just returned from work and it was late, only a few hours before the start of the next cycle. I recall hearing light footsteps fading off to the end end of the hallway and thought nothing of it. A few minutes later, there was a a series of... difficult to say. Like the sound of metal being bent, but muffled by distance and and walls. It only lasted a few clicks though."
Suli chuckles at him over their personal frequency, dark amusement practically tangible. She couldn't blame him for this particular slip; the brat was spoiled rotten and sharp as he was, there were simply certain cues that he'd miss because of his cushy life.
Hopefully, that'd been enough of a wakeup call. She couldn't hold his hand for the rest of his courier, after all. She'd probably be dragged off and have her processor and spark dismantled and put into some cell when the Maximals got sick enough of her. Til then though, she might as well try and train someone to be reasonably competant. If that mech happened to grow up and run the city? All the better then.

"Right, I see." Vora quickly unsubspaces his report and adds the details. At least he's got a rough time now.
"And this noise didn't alarm you in any way?"

"Hardly," Sidespin answers. "After you've been in the Decepticon army, there really isn't a lot that can surprise you anymore." The orange mech tilts his helm to one side curiously. "That aside though, it's hardly relevant to your case."
//When, where, how and why, little spark,// Suli reminds him in a venomously gentle tone of voice as she emerges from the bathroom. "Have there been any recent bouts of violent conflict within the community here, Sidespin? Anything that could've resulted in a murder?"
"Well, this place has never been peaceful, but I don't know anyone who hates anyone else enough to murder them here." Which is probably strange for a Maximal to hear, considering the fact that this was 'Con territory. "The other building has a few of the more violent sorts, but they are generally easy to control," Sidespin adds. He doesn't expand on the exact method of control though.

So much for tact, although talking straight about murder seems to have gotten things moving. Must be some kind of 'Con mentality, Vora concludes, his pride stinging slightly from fumbling the ball.
"Easy to control, you say? As in they couldn't get over here if they had a bone to pick with someone?"

"We have a very particular punishment for people who have made themselves nuisances," Sidespin says with a pleasant smile. "Trust me, officer, they couldn't get up to mischief no matter how hard they should try."
Suli makes an amused sound deep in her chest. It was always good to see Decepticon law still being practiced, even in an anarchist slag pit such as Praxus. She glances sidelong at Vora to see what his response would be, idly making a mental note to give him more training in questioning a witness.

"Oh. I see."
So much for that line of thinking. This witness was proving about as useful as a lead balloon.
"Have you noticed anyone out of the ordinary hanging around here?"

"Well, there was one of Axiom's creations running about, the glassmaker, but he isn't the troublesome sort. Not for as long as I have known him, anyhow. Made an application for a room but I haven't heard back from him just yet." Sidespin pauses glances between Suli and Vora for a moment before adding, "another mech was here too, a few days ago. Out of towner. He was visiting one of my tenants- Highridge. Room seven seven three. No idea what his name was and I wasn't realy too bothered to ask."
Suli perked up at that, not because the information was new, but because she was eying Vora, waiting to see if he would pick up the trail.

Finally,Vora thought to himself. Now we're getting somewhere. He also wished Suli would quit the damn staring act. I'm not gonna choke for you, you old hag,he thought bitterly.
Clearly, the out of towner was the obvious choice to follow up on. The tenant, Highridge, would also need questioning.
"Thank you. It seems we may have to pay this Highridge a visit. But before that, could you possibly describe the "out of towner" in a little more detail? Build, demeanor, that sort of thing."
